Global Risk Research

INTEK's process begins with continuous research into security risks. The purpose of this research is to identify those issues that cause the vast majority of security breaches around the world. This risk tracking also enables intelligent forecasting of emerging risk, so that INTEK can develop preventative recommendations and controls before the risk becomes an emergency.

INTEK has developed an extensive infrastructure of technology and expertise to conduct this risk research. The daily product certification activities of our Labs provides unmatched insight into the functioning of security products, as well as a complete test bed of virtually every security products for real-time testing of new attacks and malicious code. INTEK's team infiltrates underground hacker sites to track the development of new exploits. INTEK's sensors monitor for new viruses and worms around the world, providing an early view into developing malicious code attacks.

INTEK has categorized security risk into six categories:

  • Electronic Threat and Vulnerabilities - Issues that include sniffing, spoofing, hacking and especially Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) exploits
  • Malicious Code - Issues pertaining to hostile agent's affects on systems
  • Privacy - Issues that affect loss of confidentiality
  • Human Factors - Issues relating to the actions of people, policies and procedures
  • Physical - Issues relating to security of environments
  • Downtime - Issues that affect the availability of systems for use

INTEK's Security Assurance Services manage risk across all six of these areas.
